Right next to the Opera house is the Guylian Belgium Chocolate Cafe. They've also got two other branches at the Rocks and in Sydney CBD. The first thing that caught my eye was their vegan cakes, as it's always great to find vegan dessert options at well-known spots.
At the time of visit, they have four vegan desserts, including the vegan red velvet cake that I tried. Despite the beautiful presentation, the taste is disappointing. The cream lacked flavour, and the texture of the red velvet biscuit is more like a soggy sponge cake. For $16.5, I was expecting more.
I also tried their dark hot chocolate, which the staff confirmed it can be made vegan. But it's also weaker than I expected from a chocolatier cafe.
