Overview & Thoughts

Chuen So Fai is located in North Point on Hong Kong Island. It is a great destination if you want to try some veganised quintessential Hong Kong street food. It’s a takeaway only place offering no-frills, budget-friendly bites on the go.

I tried a mix of siu maai (燒賣) and curry fish balls (魚蛋), with each set of 5 pieces priced at just $8-10. The snacks came with a distinctive mushroom sauce topping, reminiscent of XO sauce, which added a flavourful kick. They don’t seem to have an English menu, so either use Google translate or show them the Chinese characters in this guide to order the same as mine.

Beyond the Hong Kong street food, you can also find options like rice noodle rolls (腸粉), dumplings (粉果), and fried bean sauce mixed noodles (炸醬拌麵). They even offer bento boxes if you're looking for something more filling - but be sure to ask about the ingredients to make sure it doesn’t contain egg or dairy. For drinks, try a classic soy milk or their hand-crushed iced lemon tea.
